Rusatom Overseas and Kozloduy NPP (Bulgaria) signed February 22 a contract for assessment of metal condition monitoring programs and for evaluation of structures, systems and components of the secondary circuit equipment at Unit 5.

NPO CKTI (Saint-Petersburg) will be involved in the contracted work as an expert organization, which will do a safety analysis, computing and quantitative estimate of residual lifetime of structures, systems and components important for safety and electricity generation.

On February 25-26, at Kozloduy NPP a kick-off meeting was held with plant specialists. At the meeting, Rusatom Overseas’ project team and Kozloduy NPP specialists introduced main participants of the new project, discussed working routine, as well as planned key measures to get ready for scheduled preventive maintenance in 2016.

This scheduled preventive maintenance will be the time of analyses and evaluation of components of turbines K-1000-60/1500-2, main condensate system OK12 and moisture separator-reheaters at Unit 5.

It is worth noting that this contract is a separate part of Stage 2 of the main project of life extension of Kozloduy NPP’s Unit 5.
