31 May 2016, Moscow – Today, at ATOMEXPO 2016 International Forum, Private institution of Atomic Energy Power Corporation “Rusatom International Network” and Assystem, a French engineering company, signed a Memorandum of understanding. The document was signed by Mr. Alexander Merten, President of Private institution RAIN, from the Russian side, and Mr. Stephane Aubarbier, Assystem CEO, from the French side.

According to the Memorandum, the Parties are interested in their bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear engineering and certification in Europe, Middle East and North Africa  among others.

The document also provides joint participation in new NPP construction and commissioning projects for third party countries and the supply of Russian equipment for nuclear projects where Assystem acts as EPC/ EPCM contractor.

Besides, the Parties have expressed their interest to cooperate in, decommissioning and radioactive waste management projects. The cooperation between the two parties won’t be limited to the nuclear sector but will also include thermal energy gas & petrochemical industries.

The Memorandum will provide the support for the improvement of the engineering expertise of ROSATOM's companies. It will also enable Assystem to broaden both its geographical footprint and the scope of its engineering services by strengthening its relationship with the Russian nuclear industry.
