On the 31st of May, at the VIII International Forum ATOMEXPO 2016 in Moscow, Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL and the National Atomic Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN) have signed the Roadmap for the development of the bilateral cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle.

The document aims at the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded by the Parties on December 14, 2015 in Jakarta and defines specific interaction steps of the two organizations, including work on the possibilities of Russian nuclear fuel deliveries for research reactors in Indonesia.

Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL and the National Atomic Energy Agency of Indonesia (BATAN) have started cooperating in 2015. The parties have managed to reach agreements of principal to make the cooperation practical already in 2016. This has been achieved with the participation of the Rusatom International Network’s regional center in South East Asia.

Bambangu Herutomo, Director of Research Reactor RSG BATAN, said 'Fuel Company of ROSATOM TVEL had large competences and experience in research reactor fuel fabrication. TVEL has accumulated vast experience in the use of fuel rod making technologies by extrusion, he said. Fuel assemblies for research reactors made by TVEL are used in many research centers throughout the world, which have proven their high quality level, reliability and compliance with all technical requirements posed by customers', he added.
