Deputy Director General for International Relations of ROSATOM Nikolai Spasskiy negotiated May 17 with an interagency delegation from the People’s Republic of Bangladesh led by Minister of Science and Technology Yafes Osman.
The Bangladeshi delegation included Head of the Prime Minister’s Office (Principal Secretary) M. A. K. Azad, Economic Adviser to the Prime Minister M. Rahman, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Prime Minister’s Office S. A. Samad, as well as other leading representatives of a number of ministries and agencies of Bangladesh. Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation S. Hoque took part in the negotiations.
The parties discussed the entire set of issues of the cooperation in construction of Ruppur NPP. The focus was on objectives related to coming into force of the general contract for the plant construction. In particular, the parties discussed in detail the issues related to granting a construction site license, approval procedure of the Ruppur NPP design chosen by the Bangladeshi side and approval of the terms of reference for drafting design documentation, as well as additional coordination of remaining addendums to the general contract.
The negotiations were held in the friendly atmosphere traditional of the Russian-Bangladeshi relations.
