PJSC ZiO-Podolsk (one of the enterprises of the Rosatom Machine-Building Division – JSC “Atomenergomash”) completed and shipped out another batch of equipment for power hall of Kudankulam NPP third unit. Three sets of moisture separator-reheaters (MSR) have been sent to the power plant. In total, there will be 4 MSR sets supplied for each unit of the second stage.

Moisture separators-reheaters are designed for drying and reheating of a moist steam, flowing after high-pressure turbine cylinder. Those are vertical vessels consisted of three parts in one body. The equipment is included in support systems assuring turbine unit functioning.

Working design documentation has been prepared by PJSC ZiO-Podolsk specialists who also realize the support of manufacturing and the following installation supervision on NPP site.

Outsize equipment is being shipped to India in a multimodal way: by railway from the city of Podolsk to Saint-Petersburg seaport, then by water transport through the Baltic and Mediterranean Seas, the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. The cargo is planned to reach the power plant in April.
